Re: Valve Grinder
What brand/model is it? Are we talkin' Sunnen or a hand grinder?

Re: Valve Grinder
well i dont have any pics, but it is a powered unit, you clamp the valve into a drill/lathe type unit and there is a grinding wheel that is also mounted to the table, then you just set what angle you want and grid away, lol ok its not that simple, but im sure you can get the idea

Re: Valve Grinder
I am well aware of what a valve grinder is, and how it works.
I am mearly stating, lets see some work of yours. A picture of the machine/setup would be cool. Who's machine is it? |
Re: Valve Grinder
I hand grind the valves at work, before putting them into the car..to make sure they seal correctly..i don't have a fancy machine. It would be nice to have though..

Re: Valve Grinder
He is probably grinding them with a surface grinder. You could do a pretty good job that way with a good wheel, dialled in collet and nice sine plate. It is not going to be professional quality though.

Re: Valve Grinder
You mean holding them at a angle aginst the bench grinder and letting them spin in your hand a little dosn't work :D

Re: Valve Grinder
no, you put them in a drill chuck, and against a grinder, with a semi-soft wheel, and resurfacing polish crap, made for valves..

We just bring ours to the machine shop, we have enough crap to do in house. |
