Help-Anyone heard of this?

A while ago I heard of an empty present idea to give someone. It is where you wrap nothing and give it to them along with a caring/sweet message. It tells them not to open the gift, it is a symbol that someone cares for you. They are to leave it on a shelf and when they are feeling down, they are to pull it out and it is to remind them that you care. It is a nicely written message, I cannot remember it. Anyone heard of this? Can you find, get the message for me? I want to give one to my gf as one of my gifts for xmas. Worse case senario, I will have to sit down and write one.

Wow, John the romantic all star. ;)

I haven't heard of a gift like this before but I definitely like the idea.

Yeah, I guess. She loves that kind of stuff. I believe I heard of it from my grandma, she cannot even recall the idea...

That sounds awful, having to write your girlfriend a note ;)

Strike one: Giving your GF an empty box
Strike two: Coming to the internet for the "heartfelt note"
Strike three: To Be announced

No No No, I am done shopping for her. She is the romantic type and would love it. I am not a great writer when it comes to that stuff. I have spent enough money on her, trust me. It is something I know she would love. I will sit down and write something if I cannot come accross it. I

John John John, sounds like a nice gester......But come on dude. In this day and age you should get her a fucking palm pilot with the letter written on it. Shit you could even have it read the note to her.

That idea seems like a white trash way of getting away with going out drinking the night before Christmas and forgetting about getting your women a gift.

John is cheap. He heard of the idea from an 85 year old lady. Get with the times and pull out your pocketbook dumbass.

Write her a song and sing it to her and secretly video tape it and post it up here ;)

Yea Im not much on that idea, my gf isnt that much of a romantic though, so we just do it the normal way with gifts that are nice.

Dish it out and get some nice stuff from Coach or Tiffanys.

If you could get away with that for christmas and not be single by new years... props to you for having someone that would probly put up with anything.

One of my friends actually is that cheap. He didn't get his girl jack for Christmas, HER BIRTHDAY, or their anniversary. And she's fine with it.

Re: Help-Anyone heard of this?

I ALREADY HAVE HER SHOPPING DONE! If James wasn't on this site I could list details of what I got her. Trust me, I spent enough.

I have a friend who said he has only spent $8 on his past two gfs. I wonder why he has been single for a while...

Re: Help-Anyone heard of this?

I was dumb enough to give a girlfriend my old cassette collection for her birthday one year. We later married but got divorced a few years later. She mentioned that present was part of the problem. Lesson learned. This year, I bought my wife a bigger house for Christmas, she's happy.

Re: Help-Anyone heard of this?

Me and Mara really don't give each other presents for Christmas. We are at her parents down in Florida for Christmas every year, we just sit around and let her parents do everything. It's hard enough finding presents for each other for birthdays and anniversary. We are not the kind of people who go out and buy all kinds of new stuff. Our TV, VCR and gaming systems are probably older than half the people on this forum and I don't think she wants to buy me transmissions for gifts. I don't think she would mind a new Lexus for Christmas each year, but that is a bit out of my price range.

I've heard of something like that box thingy, but that was a long time ago like when I was wee-little. Have you tried those gift card stores? They might have them. BTW, anyone know of any places where I could get flowers? PM me if you do.

Re: Help-Anyone heard of this?

you could get flower just about anywhere. How about the nearest grocery store, wallmart,... You could look in the yellow pages under flowers also.
