Anyone here a PC gamer? Post system specs!
I know Ene's is, but is anyone else?
I have been playing Battlefield 2 religiously, and still play some HL2 and CS source/regular CS. I just beat F.E.A.R. I beat Doom3 again while I was here at school, and Call of Duty. Now Call of Duty 2 is coming out and it looks badass. My System Specs Black case with blue lights (Rice Rice Baby) - Abit NF7-s rev. 2.0 Motherboard - AMD Athlon XP Mobile 2600+ processor clocked at 2455mhz. I think it's 11.5x213 or something. I had it at 2.65ghz but it was getting hot. - 2x512 G.Skill PC3200 "value" RAM, but it has been clocked at 230mhz no problem. - 450Watt Power Supply - 80GB Seagate Barracuda (SATA) - ATi Radeon X850XT running at stock speeds currently. - Some random CDRW drive that works fine. It scored 6100 in 3DMark2005 as it sits right now, I'm happy. I have had it for probably 7 or 8 months now. Total cost was about 800 dollars after all was said and done. |

Re: Anyone here a PC gamer? Post system specs!
Intel Pentium 4 HT 800mhz FSB runing at 3.3
2x512 Kingston PC3200 Asus P4P800 1 IDE 250gb 1 SATA 300gb 500w powersupply Nvidia 4400 Ti The current weak point on the system is the video card, but that will change soon, probably going to a highend 256, or if I can find it a mid grade 512. The only game I have trouble playing right now is FEAR and thats cause I can't jack the settings up. I play HL2, Cod, Cod2, UT2004 without any problems however. |
Re: Anyone here a PC gamer? Post system specs!
I usually just play Source on random servers. I don't play very often though because Battlefield 2 is a much better online game in my opinion. CS:S is awesome if you actually get a team that works together and uses strategy, but running around shooting people isnt as fun as hiding in grass sniping, getting in a jet bombing people, using tanks, boats, cars, amphibious vehicles, attack helicopters and big 8 man crew helicopters, you get the idea.

As far as what video card to get, just get a "high" end AGP card. I say "high" because the new ATi and Nvidia cards arent even available on AGP anymore, only PCIExpress. I would say for your system, unless you plan on upgrading, get something like a 6800GT or a X800XL or X800XT. Any of those will be a HUGE jump from what you have right now. Prices are dropping on the 6800GT's and X800's all the time. There are also awesome deals all the time on the cards. Anything more then that, and you might as well just build an AMD 64 system with PCIe due to much faster cheaper card's like the 7800GT. |
