Re: fun 1G pic
That's from LSPR (Lake Superior Pro Rally) in Houghton, MI. I wish I could've gone this year but I couldn't.
There are some pics around the net of higher flyers than that from other years. Steve Gingras used to get huge air on the tarmac stage up there. They cut back that stage last year so they couldn't get up to the really big jump. I don't know how far they went up this year. Hey Dan, wasn't that stage called Burma? |

Re: fun 1G pic
I did that in my 1g teal 2.0na, cept the nose was pointed down when it landed, it was funny as hell to watch(aparently) and made a huge bang, no cracked windshield or bent frame, so i just kept driving, point for the DSM unibody

Re: fun 1G pic
If you go to watch the Ojibwe Forests Rally in Bemidji, there is a stage called "Chad's Yump." It was named after a driver named Chad that flew so far that he had enough time to turn to his co-driver and say "This is gonna hurt" while in mid air. When they landed, the suspension (rally prepped suspension) went almost all the way thru the hood (or so I've heard).
It's not so much a jump as it is the ground falling out from underneath you. Ask Mark and Allen about how fun Chad's Yump is!!! |
