A friend is going to school in London and sent pictures from a famous night club there and I was so jealous. :( I wish we had cool places like that here.

Matt D. 12-24-2003 10:13 AM

That isn't a club, that's a freaking dance party. The biggest one in the world is put on each year in Amsterdam at Amsterdam Arena by ID&T - http://sensation.id-t.com/sensation2003/. Enes, where are those pictures from?

The music from Sensation seriously moves you... Tom knows what I'm talking about. One day I WILL DJ at Sensation. ;)

Enes 12-24-2003 10:36 AM

Yes Matt, you are right, that is from a id&t .... if you say you will play there, i definetely gots to hear some stuff you have now... you actively play anywhere?

Halon 12-24-2003 11:02 AM

i was stationed in Pensacola, FL for about 1 1/2 years. The clubs there are the sh!t. Just a couple hours from pensacola was Panama City. That place was awesome. They had clubs everywhere, but the one everyone went to was called La Vela. supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the country. i know mtv stops there for spring break a lot. if you ever wanna go on a cheap lil party vacation, that is definately a place to consider. much cheaper then a trip to mexico, and fun as hell. there's the beach, clubs, bungee jumping, and just the atmosphere there is awesome, everyone is having fun, so it makes no matter what you're doing fun!

I don't have anything recorded... Every time I've Shoutcasted I haven't had enough drive space to record a 1-2 hour long WAV file, and track selection was on the fly so some of the transitions sucked. I currently mix MP3s on my computer using software, but hope to pick up a couple of turntables and a crate of vinyl in the next few months. Anyone up for DJ Matt mixing at Tom's next pool party?

Super Bleeder!! 12-24-2003 11:58 AM

man, i sure do hate clubbing.

Kracka 12-24-2003 12:08 PM

DJ Matt can spin at Tom's next party I say.

ABV 12-24-2003 12:37 PM

hell yeah. Actually I'd like to hear some of it sometime.

As far as other stuff that is better in other countries, well I can't really say because I've never been out of the U.S.. Not even to Canada. I hope to be going to New Zealand in a few years though. Or maybe Japan. I want to see some live WRC action and maybe some F1.

Kick Ass - DJ Matt will rock Tom's party

Are you talking about Gilbert? I sat at his house Sunday night and looked through a lot of the pictures he has from over in England. The club atmostphere looks absolutely unbelieveable. From what he says everyone is so much nicer over there and much more friendly, which I can definitely believe.

Jana, do you know Jason Salaz? Where he is living now in Panama City Beach, Florida is about a mile from the largest club in the States: Club La Vela.

tpunx99GSX 12-24-2003 02:45 PM

"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." (Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989)

"That is why kids these days dance at raves, drop ecstasy, and listen to trance." (Danny Potter, Critic, 2003) - A friend of mine who mixes via the internet.

Electronica is by far my favorite music genre. Saying that all people like myself do use or have used X is as sad of a stereotype as saying that only hippies smoke pot.

I would love to go to a club like that. That'd be so cool. But I bet it might get old after a while. Too crowded. I'm quick to push somebody or something for getting in my bubble.

Everyone is there for the same reason, and the music sets you free... You will forget about all of your worries and cares in the world when the rhythmic bass and smooth melodies massage your body and mind.

BTW, I'm looking at buying turntables soon... Just gotta stock up on vinyl, practice-practice-PRACTICE and I'll be everyone's favorite party DJ. :bounce:
