I should say, that it not the cables, because i tried to shift into gear right where the cables end up on the tranny, and i still couldnt do it.

Was the car running? Did you roll the car at all? Is this a new trans that hasn't been run before?

The tranny came out of my old car, which ran perfectly fine. By "roll" do you mean, push the car, or flip it over? It didnt flip over but, I did push it out of the street when it was crashed. No, not a new trans, it was a very good tranny and shifted very nice, until this happened. I remember trying to push it into the gears, right after being in the accident, but i couldnt go into 1st or 2nd then either. I assumed it was because something was pushed up against the shifter cables.

The crash impact could have definitely broken something in the transmission. Do you remember what gear you were in when you crashed?

Well dont I fell stupid. I took the motor and tranny out, and pulled the tranny off, and right before I tore the tranny apart, my friend told me to check it again..........and it shifted through all the gears fine.

So i bolted it back onto the motor, and put the motor and trans back in, and it still shifted through the gears fine, so i hooked the cables back up and I noticed that the cable nearest to the motor (The one that goes back and forth, not side to side) is about 1.5 cm too long!! damn it!

figures... now I need to figure out how to shorten this cable up, are the 91-94 cables shorter or longer than the 90 ones? Because i have both sets.

What year is the transmission you're putting in? If it's a 90 transmission you will need to swap the cables if I remember correctly since the car you have now is a 93.

The cables have to match the shifter, brackets and shift arms on the trans. There is an adjustment on the end that clips to the shifter. I don't know if you can get that much adjustment out of it though.

Yeahm everything matches, im pretty sure. Since I left the bracket on the tranny, and I tok the shifter base and cables out of my old car.

I adjusted it as much as possible, but its still too long.
