Why My Car Sucked
 

1992 Tsi AWD 5 spd
As many of you may know, I bought my third DSM from an infamous soul know as Blake H. He was a DSMstyle regular for some time I guess, and I must say he was a decent guy when I dealy with him. But there was so much stuff wrong with my car I didn't know about until I pulled the head.

1.The front motormount had no bolt in it
2.The knock sensor was exploded
3.Previous owner tried to get broken stud out, and broke a drill bit and/or a Bolt out in the hole and left it
4.Behind one stud there was a whole directly into the head
5.All 8 exhaust valves, and 1 intake valve, were bent
6.Kinda unrelated, but my ghey clutch was toast.

Oddly enough, the pistons tops sure look like Toplines. So that was a nice surprise.

I fixed everything:
head decked, 3 angle valve job, fixed studs and hole, new valves, seals, and guides
new knock sensor
bolt for the mtr mount
coppersprayed 4 layer mitsu metal HG
ARPs
act 2600lb clutch
oh, and Jason R's old setup =)

So yeah, my car rocks now. It's completely different, and I'm happy with it!

Glad that your happy with it! Now get it all wrapped up and take it to the track. Maybe you can pull an off an 11 :)

Isn't one of the exhaust mani studs supposed to go into an oil galley?

Otherwise, I know exactly what it is like getting a car that is in questionable shape and not knowing about it. I am still in the process of de ghettoifying my car, but when it's done I know I will be happy. Good luck with it!

Gotta love ripping out all or part of the motor after you buy a car that 'runs great!' I know that feeling (so does my checkbook!) all too well. Oh well, I'm really happy with the car now, as I'm sure you will be with yours!

There is supposed to be a hole behind the bottom center exhaust manifold stud like stated above.

His car looks Ghey green Joe! And he ant gonna let you drive it!!! haha! Yah the car is like 100 million times better!!! All you need is a new radiator! Someone help him out with this!! He needs one bad!!

People told him who had a radiator in his other thread. If he didn't pick one up, thats his fault. He should just shell out the 110 and buy one new from Viking auto. If that's what is holding him back, I don't see why he doesnt have one yet.

lol, well you've let me drive your car a few times... No one shifts the way I shift my tranny. Thats why it has lasted, and I don't want someone to fuck it up. Or they'll be getting me some new syncros.
