Oh what fun tonite.
 

Ok. So I was driving home from Rallyfest tonite when i felt a little vibration coming from the front end. I thought the tierod end was going out so I pulled over to the side of the road. I got out and shook the wheel back and forth to find there was no slack in it. Suddenly I smelled something familiar. It was gear lube!!!!!!!

So I looked under the car to see a stream of gear lube draining out. I looked at the transfer case to make sure it was still attached to the tranny. It was as well as the tranny was bolted to the engine tight.

So I called AAA and had them tow me the 5 miles home. Once I got it home, I jacked it up to see what was going on. Turned out the idler shaft for the driver's side halfshaft had it's bolts come out and it was wobbling around. I found some extra bolts I had and tightened them up in there. I'm going to refill the tranny tomorrow morning and see if it's going to leak. Hopefully the seal is still ok.

What a way to start my rally weekend huh?!?!?!

if you dont have time to make it out to MAS, I have some royal purple sitting in the garage. 75w/90 ( their GL4 application). I dont need to get rid of it by any means, but if it helps a fucker out.. it's all good!

I've got some gear lube at home. I just need to get some rest tonite. I'll fill it tomorrow morning.
