Battery and Brake Light

I have a 90 galant gsx, basically a vr4, we are on the way back from the cookout when the car started stuttering when ever I accelerated more than 13% throttle. We got off the highway and a IC pipe blew off. We put it back on and the car ran just fine, we get home and the brake and battery light were on. The voltage was reading at 11.9 - 12.2 when we parked the car and the brake fluid was at a fine level. What could have happened?

-IC pipe blew off
-Drove fine home after reinstalled pipe
-Brake and Battery light now on

Re: Battery and Brake Light

Check the 80amp alternator fuse. If thats fine then start the car and pull the cables off the battery, if the car dies your alternator is most likely shot.
