ok well since the dsm is constantly under construction, i've decided to get a 2nd car prolly around Feb/Mar time frame. Just seeing if anyone has any suggestions. I'm trying to keep it under 3grand. I want my 2nd car to be like a sedan or sumthin... 4 door, automatic, so if i ever like go on a double date, then we can all fit in it u know. Basically i've been thinkin like maybe a 93ish camry or altima. something along those lines. Anyone have and experiences with another car that'd make a great 2nd car? also i want it to be a 4 cylinder for gas mileage and they're easy to work on. so ya, gimme suggestions please.

Get a Civic...

They are mad tight holmes

JET 12-16-2003 08:31 PM

Sounds like a GVR4 to me! Then you always have backup parts laying around that will fit both cars.

ACRucrazy 12-16-2003 09:28 PM

Shit! For 3 grand you could get THREE 4dr neons!
But im a lil bias! :bounce:

At-Least-It's-An-Evo 12-16-2003 09:40 PM

for 3 grand ,. you could get another dsm... wait...dont' do that.

Halon 12-16-2003 09:57 PM

gvr4 and another dsm? i need a car that is reliable people!!! civic? honda's seem to retain there value pretty well, so id prolly have to buy an older civic to get it in that price range, plus i think id like something with a tad bit more room than a civic. neons? i've known too many people with problems with there neons, im not getting one, hope that didn't hurt your feelings man.

I've got your car, a 1995 Mitsubishi Diamante. Four door with all the toys, and it even has the same oil cap as your DSM. ;) It'll probably be right around 3 bills.

Cheap, reliable and roomy...I don't know man, the camry might be a good choice otherwise I like the idea of 3 neons. When 1 breaks down just remove all identification and walk off and you still got 2 more to drive!

I also think more people need Saddam avatars

A//// Guy 12-16-2003 10:54 PM

OT: no saddam is homosexual (I HATE THE OH SNAP SHIT-g a y= oh snap) and he shouldnt be publicized.

Just get something cheap that sounds good. Personally Id prolly just get a na 1g or 2g.

He said above that he wants somehing roomy to go on double dates with. And what do you mean by sounds good?

You should roll in a Cadillac. Fo-shizzle-manizzle

Caddies and Lincolns both drop like rocks on resale and are nice cars. They eat alot of gas though. Camerys and Diamantes are good choices. But what about Volvos, Escorts, Audis (keep AWD), Mazda Millenia and 626's, Nissan Maxima/ Altima.

Finding the right car is more going to be about finding one that has been well taken care of rather than what kind of car it is.

Sometimes if you can find someones old project car you can get some cool stuff. My roomate in collage bought a 73 Jag XJ L. It was the limo rear seat version. Fresh motor/trans, straight body in grey primer, box with all the chrome redone. The interior was pretty shot. We hat to sand and relaminate the dash and pull some seat out from the yard. It was pimp, ran sweet, and was $3-3500. The guy just got tired of it taking up his garage space.

Sounds good as in the ad... like milage exterior, interior.... Hmm I didnt see the roomy part, sorry.

Then Id have to say prolly a nice 80s to early 90s benz for cruising. 300SEL long body (3.0 v6) or 560 SEC for a roomy 2 door. With a 5.6 V8...

CVD 12-17-2003 06:29 PM

you need a 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood ;)

Jakey 12-17-2003 07:03 PM

Hyundai Elantra- Cheap, Great gas milage, and basic

Halon 12-17-2003 08:14 PM

I really don't know what vehicle to compare an Elantra to, maybe somebody can help me out with that out :bounce:
They're not the most spacious but they could easily be much more compact.

A//// Guy 12-17-2003 09:29 PM

Like a 4 door cavelier....

MustGoFaster 12-17-2003 10:06 PM

1981 Olsmobile Nintey-Eight is what you need. Couch on wheels, we got one no rust, $1500 only 125,xxx miles.

Just buy a car from some old lady that has service reccords.

john 12-17-2003 10:11 PM

I have the roomyest (sp) car you will ever find. A 79 cadillac deville. The 425 ci carburated engine gets great MPG ;) . I am selling mine. I am the second owner as of this summer. One owner since 79 until she died. Then it was mine.

Halon 12-17-2003 10:38 PM
