My last day at work today..... well, I'm already home actually. For those who don't know, I will be working downtown Mpls starting Monday morning. It was a sad day for me as I've been there for 7 years and had developed a close relationship with about half of the company.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my news.... :(

I will still be in Accounting, A/R side primarily as it's my favorite. Actually, downtown is closer than where I was. Checkpoint moved from Eden Prairie out to Chanhassen this spring, which made my commute 80 miles/day. I'll actually be taking the express bus in from Maple Grove, so at least my "behind the wheel" drive time is about 10-15 min. :)

Yeah, Cher worked there for a bit, and CVD is still there as far as I know. They worked in our Central Station department, which is where the monitor the burg/fire accounts, etc. I was in accounting/finance, so my hours were normal. :)

I hope you are happy with you're new job! I might start looking around myself. Especially if managment is as bad in the rest of the company as it is in Central Station!

Thanks CVD! I think each dept has different mgmt, and it's all what you are willing to deal with (but that's at every company). I never minded mgmt until both our Controller & Accounting Mgr left last August and I had two new people to deal with. That's when it went downhill for me....

Well, my first day has come and gone. It went pretty well, about what I expected. My bus ride was easier than I ever thought it would be, now I wished I wouldn't have stressed so much about it (but that's just me). The new place is so much smaller than what I'm used to. The department is half the size (6 w/ me), and it's very laid back atmosphere. I like it so far. :)
