damn clutch...

Well, went to the track. Ended up smoking the clutch and was hoping I could use the 2500lb pressure plate I already had... whoops guess not... So, the quick easy fixed clutch job jumped from $200 to a $400 clutch job plus the stock sized Brembo brakes which are vented slotted and cross drilled, Stainless brake lines, new pads ($385 The Speed Factor); and Poly bushings (Archer Racing) means I got alot of work to do. But should be worth it when it all is complete and corners good.

So as of tonight (wed) the new clutch and pressure plate are on with the resurfaced flywheel. Tranny is back in the car after wrestling with it for a few hrs by myself. Just waiting on the new rear rotors(shipping error) and the headache of pressing out the factory bushings which I am having a shop do for me. So hopfully tomorrow evening I should be putting the front suspension back together and toping off the fluids. Shortly there after going for a drive and begining to break in the new clutch. However I am only doing the front suspension for now and going to leave the bushings for another week/weekend.

Big thanks to Jeremy at Archer Racing for getting a Kevlar clutch disc and a 2600lb pressure plate. No idea who makes it or what brand but sounds like they have a shop which makes them up for the Vipers they race and its about the same setup.

That's sucks Dave, really sorry to hear that. But it sounds like you got all your shit together. Did you even get one good pass in??

Best pass I got was a 12.63 at 105.8mph. It was at BIR on a Wed. night and the car was running like hell. Although I did get consisten 1.8 and a 1.75 60'. So I was actually hooking up pretty good, then the clutch started slipping really bad and I called it a night.
