Sometimes it is hard to bring the boost past the low 20's. I may be interested in his block if mine cannot be fixed.

Long rods help the rod ratio a decent amount. But they do next to nothing for the main problem with the 2.3/2.4, which is the piston speed. A longer rod causes the piston to dwell longer at TDC, which makes detonation more likely on a forced induction car. It's an old trick that works well on all-motor V8s for a few more HP, but getting more airflow for power is not a problem for a turbo car with a boost controller, staying away from knock and detonation is our main problem. So, is it worth all the trouble and money to goto long rods, not to me. Maybe to other people. I don't know of any pros running long rods. Brent isn't, there is a chance Shep could be but he is on meth anyways, I doubt Buschur would have ever bothered, I doubt Glazer is. Thats all the DSM pros I know of.

If you read something somewhere and then pass it along somewhere else, you're an expert.
I'm running longer rods, I just stacked 12 Cometic headgaskets on top of each other for clearance. |

Long rods should help you run a little higher redline, but we aren't talking a large amount. Probably 200-300 rpm. When the pin gets raised it ends up in the oil control ring, which I really don't like.
Marco loves the long rods :D I believe Vicious is running a long rod engine in his car. |

if marco loves the long rods maybe we should stay away. seeing as how his car has never really ran a decent time for the amount of work into it imho.
the diff launch at the SO last year was fun though! |

some with say a 1300 dollars bottom end owned by JASON RHOADES ( tediously cared for, in perfect shape) is a good deal. All I was trying to do was help out someone looking.
