Oil Pressure install HELP
I just purchased a 2 1/16'" Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge(part #4327) to install on my 1990 Eagle Talon TSI because my factory one is bad. The problem I'm having is that the new sending unit that came along with the gauge doesn't seem to fit into where the factory one came out of.
Would I need to buy an adapter for the new sending unit so that it'll fit? Has anyone installed this gauge on their car, I would greatly apreciate if I can get some feedbacks. thanks. |

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Re: Oil Pressure install HELP
Should just screw right in. I am not very fond of the autometer sending units anyways. I've had 2 go bad and a friend had 3 go bad, now mine is mounted to the frame with a SS line running to the oil filter housing so the engine doesnt vibrate the shit out of it. If you have the chance I would suggest mounting it to the frame but that is just my opinion!
As for the adapter... Take the old sending unit to the hardware store with you and get an adapter the size of the old one so you know it fits. Good luck. Jake |
Re: Oil Pressure install HELP
It should be 3/8 npt if I remember right. It also should have come with an adapter or two if you bought it new.

Re: Oil Pressure install HELP
Yep got it installed a few days ago. The needle doesn't seem to want to move :P so it looks like I'm gonna have to go re-check all my connections.
