oil leak

After the cam installation I'm getting oil all over my timing belt area. When I open the upper timing belt cover it all looks wet inside. The timing belt is even wet. The oil seems to have gotten on the outside of the lower timing cover also. I'm thinking it's the valve cover gasket or the cam seals. I didn't bother to change them since I thought they'd be fine. Where are the areas where the oil can leak from?

You solved your own puzzle. Replace them bitches first.

My bet would be cam seals, binding oil passage oil near the camshaft seal, or a pinched valve cover gasket.
So yeah, like allan said, good job you fixed it :).

Ok it was the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing nut decided to back out loose also.

Did you just tighten it? Many people use locktite on it to prevent it from happening again.
Also, very important. Don't just tighten it to 'whoa' its a good way to get oil and coolant to mix. That housing is somewhat fragile, and can be crushed easily by using the 'tight enough' torque method ;).

Yeah I hear it's fragile. I tighten it down to specs (31lbs torque). :)
