shep racing transmission.
Has anyone ever gotten a shep tranny on this board? I'm trying to figure out the best way to take care of it ( shipping) and I'd like some advice from someone that has done this. If it matters, I'm looking at the 895 rebuild which isnt an actual cost, I'm aware of this. Additional items may need replacement. I read nothing about a warantee. I'm assuming there is no warantee?

Re: shep racing transmission.
warantee only to the work he does if you get it and it shifts fine, the waranty is up.. nothing else is warantied.
Now, i have a shipping containter over at QPR, i paid $80 for it when i shipped mine, packed it good, went and came back safely! its on extra protective side of a container ;p If you want to use it leme know.. i will see if they are done using it. -E |

I got one too. I used Fedex, they were by far the cheapest. I think it was $85 to ship it.

Re: shep racing transmission.
I got one and love it, I got the full pimp package. I shipped mine in a $20 Wally World tote with a sheet of plywood on the bottom per Shep's advice. Cost me about $80 to ship it.

Re: shep racing transmission.
When I got a tranny shipped I too used FedEx, I believe it was $65 shipped from the East Coast to MN.

Re: shep racing transmission.
fedex is the way to go.. now just finding the tote was a bit tougher for me.. so i just got a super tough one from Menards paid too much for it but i was able to put one full trany and extra one in parts in it ;p

Re: shep racing transmission.
What If I have 2 working trannies and I want one rebuilt? Maybe ship both and he can buy the other off me? Anyone done this? I called shep, awaiting for his call back. Enes, I might be hitting you up for that crate. Otherwise, Ill follow his advice on his site. I also work at a machine shop so we have various crates laying around.

Re: shep racing transmission.
he won't buy old tranies, i shipped him 2 and told him to use best parts out of the 2, and then ship me complete trany and old parts, if he can credit me for something i asked him to take parts, but he said he has more than enough of them.
he needed housings, just like everyone else did.. -E |
Re: shep racing transmission.
Id send him 2 complete full working trannies. The housing off of the one he doesnt build he can have along with everything else. Is this guy easy to work with? I can see they aren't great with returning phone calls =/ Must be busy. I have an Extra working Tcase too. Do you know if he will refurnish rear ends and Tcases? I'd be interested if he did, I didnt see it on the site. I could just be dumb.

Re: shep racing transmission.
He is great to work with. Remeber though, this is racing season! He is concetrating on getting the bugs worked out of his race car. The business doesn't get as much attention this time of the year.

Try getting a phone call or let alone an email back from TRE also. Just as tough. That's the only drawback about some businesses that run their own stuff at the tracks. Either they're just too busy or their stuff comes first. |
Re: shep racing transmission.
GOOD NEWS GUYS! I just got off of the phone with John Shepard and he gave us the ok to do this over a freight truck as long as I let him know the day before they ship out. We need to figure out how we want to do this and I need to know whos actually serious.
Jim, throw up your information here. If you did any research as to how we can do this, let us all know! Thanks - Hopeing to get to this in a week or so. |
