Thermal Wrap

Anyone know where to get any locally? Is there any difference in quality, price, or a particular brand that kicks ass? sucks ass?

I am not a 100% sure but I would guess MAS or TNT motorsports would have it in stock. Or its something that QPR or Elite could get if they don't already have some.

I'm pretty sure MAS in St. Paul has it. Never visited TNT but they're a motorsports shop so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't have any either.

Re: Thermal Wrap

something to wrap my o2 housing and downpipe, possible my part of my exhaust manifold and turbine housing; I'm having some overheating issues that I'm sure are due to heat from my exhaust components; the plastic wrap I have protecting the wires for my cooling fan on that side is nice and melty!

Re: Thermal Wrap

yeah, i had a problem where my fan blades were actually melted and started crumbling down and were hitting the supports :(

after i wrapped the exhaust with the thermal wrap it cut down on the heat quite a bit.

Re: Thermal Wrap

enes, what all did you wrap? do you have any of your stock heat shields in place?

Re: Thermal Wrap

You can check with any local motorcycle shop too, I've seen them carry it before. I had my o2 housing wrapped and it made a huge difference in engine bay heat.

Re: Thermal Wrap

Has anyone ever actually tried to wrap the stock exhaust manifold and/or o2 sensor housing? What a ffing joke! I think I'm going to just spring for a new manifold, get it jet coated, and get a nice, polished heat-shield. I'll use the heat-wrap for my downpipe later, but here's a quick pic of my shyte attempt this weekend.

I was lucky enough to break off an exhaust manifold-to-turbine bolt last weekend, so I yanked off my "ported exhaust manifold" to get a better look at the turbine housing (when I bought the car, I was told it was *way* ported a lot of people know who I bought this car from, keep that in mind next time you buy something from someone).

Edit: Ooops, sorry I didn't see that you mentioned Jet Hot coating above.
