sweetness. does it have narrowband emulation?

Re: Check this out.

I have one of those for my car already. $140-150 retail without the sensor and you can find the sensors for $35-$45 from VW places.

Re: Check this out.

So do you have to have the Megasquirt ECU or can you just log through a laptop?

Re: Check this out.

I have an AEM EMS and the Innovate software.

Re: Check this out.

will it work with dsmlink?

LightningGSX 06-15-2005 02:04 PM

Re: Check this out.

No megasquirt is required, it should work with anything.

Scheides - I'm not sure about the narrow band output, adding one is do able though.I'm not sure if you had any electronics courses but, an Op-amp with the apropriate gain will give to a narrow band output.

Edit: 2 actually. One as an inverting amp and the second as a unity gain buffer.LM558(I think) at Radio scrap for 89 cents

Truth be told, I have a degree in physics/EE, but I do not know the workings of a wideband, except the basic inputs/outputs. Makes sense to me, though!

We sell the LC-1 with wideband sensor for $190 and without the sensor for $145.

Re: Check this out.

So what about operating as a stand alone? What options would be available for a display unit or would that now defeat the cost and put you in PLX territory of $313 shipped?

Re: Check this out.

The LM-1 has a display and it is around $320.

Re: Check this out.

does LM1 do any logging?

Yep.

Re: Check this out.

Yea, both the LM-1 and LC-1 do PC datalogging. They make a 52mm gauge called XD-1 for use with the LM-1 or LC-1 that can mount in a pillar pod or whereever.

Re: Check this out.

If you want a display, you can use a panel voltmeter. They are available from nearly any electronics store and come in many sizes, colors, etc.The usually have a bezel to mount them.I just browsed through the manual for that wideband, but it looks like the ananlog output in programmable, which means it could be configure to display perfect on the panel meter.BTW the average panel meter is about $30, and you wouldn't need to do any additional wiring to make it work either

Re: Check this out.

Or better yet, I could make it display wideband A/F on the factory boost gauge. You DON'T even need an eprom ECU.Or you could configure its analog output to display correct A/F on one of the useless blinky narrow band gauges as well.I'd probably even do it for free, I like challenges.

Re: Check this out.

Off topic, but sorta related.I figured out how to use the factory boost gauge for other things without the need of an eprom ECU, like knock, timing, actual boost, fuel trims, etc.

If you ever learned about nernst cells(physics) or H-Bridges(EE) you pretty much know the inner workings of a wideband unit.

Wow. Am I turning into a post whore or what?
