Electrial Devil in the mighty 1.8.

Ok so the other day I noticed my dome lights no longer work. No big deal, figured the fuse went out. They never worked when I opened the door, but now I can't get them to work when pushing the 4 buttons around them (between the visors).

Wasn't going to get into it much until today. I am driving home from work in the rain with the wipers going and out of no where the speed of the wipers drop from normal high mode to extremly slow. Like something was holding them back from going up. It was insane and frankly pissed me off cause it was raining just enough to make it hard to see.

So i was thinking in this case maybe the alt was going out and the battery was getting drained. But there was no dimming of any lights, and as I let the car run a bit it never seemed to want to die out.

Any ideas if I should be looking at something electrial yet or maybe the motor behind the wipers?

I doubt it's the problem but have you checked your grounds?

Probably an operator error.

Does your backup lights work? the dome light and backup lights are on that 10 amp fuse.

Haven't checked the reverse lights yet, I will tomorrow when I jump it. I left lights for the 2G on as well so this moring not only was the 2G dead, but the 1.8 wouldn't start.

I am pretty sure the alt died 100% on the 1.8 causing some of this crap, like the whipers slow down.

Check your alternator fuse first of all. That damn thing will make your car seem possessed! It is the 80 amp inside the fuse box by the MAF. There are small bolts holding it in down on the sides, 10mm I think.

Here's what you do: 1. Add full coverage insurance 2. Fill up the gas tank 3. Stick a wick in the filler neck 4. Ignite wick
