Spotted 1st gen
 

I was driving on hwy 169 south bound between Elk river and Rogers whe going north bound I saw a red 1st gen riding on a trailer behind a blue pickup. Was wondering if it was any of you guys?

Was it a blue ranger? If so it was probably pgp43 on here. He doesn't post though, just a bit of a lurker.

it was either a ranger or a Dodge Dakota (kinda a bigger truck) could have been a ranger though :p

I think they were going to the rallycross at Corcoran today. I saw a red 1g without taillights on a trailer with a blue ranger.

I also saw a white 1g on a trailer today being pulled by a smaller pickup. I think it was on highway 10 or possibly 101. I was on my way back home from St. Cloud when I saw it.

BTW, I guess a DSM caught on fire today at the rallycross.

Fuck the Rally X was today? Whyen did they start having them again.

We need some more info on the fire with the DSM as well. lol

Yep, the red 1g behind the blue truck was pgp43 heading to the rallyX. That car took 1st and 2nd in 2wd open class (unprepared). Bone stock 2.0 n/a, gutted with rally tires on it. It took 3rd and 4th overall. Was it Dan that started on fire? I know he did pretty well.

If the interior was gutted and he was running rally tires, he would be in a prepared class.

I'm not sure who it was that started on fire. I heard it was a radiator hose that blew and then landed on some hot metal (I assume the exhaust manifold).

Well you rally n00b. He doesn't have a cage or any other modifications so he is in unprepared :D If he had a cage it would have been in prepared.

LOL, actually all it takes is Rally Tires for him to be prepared. I've ran both with my old 1G Talon. When I was on street Tires I was un prepared. When I just had Rally Tires on, I was bumped to Prepared. That's how the rules are layed out.

Supposedly the rules are different from rally to rallyX. I am just going off of what Paul said though, I don't know shit about rally rules. :D He tech'd out in unprepared thougha and the rally tires were on it at the time.

IN rally cross tire choice can make your class different. In Club Rally they don't make classes change cause everyone runs them regaurdless depending on terrain. So in Club Rally he probably is in the lower "stock" class. But in Rally Cross he's bumped to run with the open/preparred class.

After reading thru the class rules, he would be in Rally Street Front-Wheel Drive. One step up from stock but not in prepared. I forgot that tires are free in rally street classes.

BTW, cages are allowed (and even encouraged) in street stock classes. You can even have race seats bolted in with harnesses. It's performance advantages that bump you up in classes, tires being one of those.
