Re: Couplers

you buy nice colored silicone couplers online or menards and home depot sell couplings with 2 house claps for like 1.50 a piece.

Re: Couplers

Solid rubber ones will blow, even with a small T25. You need couplers that have the multi-layered threaded bands. The good ones like i have a 4-ply. I bought mine from RRE.

The same thing Happend to me but I got The reducer so i cut up the stock 2G intercooler pipe and used it as a coupler. workin good so far, and it clearly wont blow and it can clearly hold boost. and its free.

Re: Couplers

I think it was like $12/ foot. Then i cut (3) 4" sections. If you need a hump connectors, they are like $12 a piece. I like RRE because everything is always in stock and they get it out fast to me.

Re: Couplers

I have 4-ply silicone couplers in stock. They are blue in either 2.5" or 3", I also have reducers and elbows.

Re: Couplers

Hey jet how much for 2.5 couplers? If you look at blageo23's engine bay, [hope you dont mind me useing your pic as a reference] i have the red coupler right before the elbow down to the smic. Would i need a reducer? Or just 2 2.5" couplers [one for the smic connection, and one for the tb connection]?

heres the pic:

Re: Couplers

Assuming the UICP is 2.5" you are going to need 2.25"-2.5" reducers. I don't have any that size. I will put it on the list for the next time I order though.

Re: Couplers

i think im going to try the stock ic piping for couplers. Ill do a leak test and if everything looks good ill call it a day. Thanks for the ideas. Jet if I do need couplers Ill hit you up. ;)

Re: Couplers

I have some coolant hose in 2 1/4" ID that I used for couplers that I still got a bunch of, works good, its got like 3 plys to it, looks kinda cool, not like auto coolent hose...

Follow-up

i used stock ic piping, i cut it to fit [5" lengths] and i tightend everything down is tight as i could. i put it all back together; it runs great. no fluttering of the BOV [compressor surge] just a clean chirp. i didnt have time to pressure test because it started raining like hell. now i just need to do the bcs mod, and pressure test.

Re: Couplers

the tb is like 2.5, and the smic seemed a little smaller.

Re: Couplers

stock 2g ic is 2.25", TB elbow is close to 2.5".
