How about both. Let her know what's really on your mind.

But since most women probably wouldn't go for that, I say Bennihana's would be a good place. Or some nice place like that to eat.

AJ 12-08-2003 10:24 PM

If you take her out to eat she will bitch about you thinking she's too skinny.

I've only met a few girls in my life that thought I thought of them as too skinny. Remember, we're in Minnesota, the polar bear rule applies.

I took my wife to Benihana for our first date, I'd say it turned out well.

Dinner and a Movie... works for me... Or go shopping with her, that seems to do ok, except i end up with no money. haha

Enes 12-08-2003 11:39 PM

NEWBS.... no wonder you loose your women so quickly....

the key is impression...

A quiet romantic candle light dinner that you cooked in your own place with roses and soft tunes playing in the background....

you suck at women!!!

tpunx99GSX 12-09-2003 12:31 AM

I am thinking benehanas sounds like a plan then maybe bowling afterwards, Before i talked to her tonight i had only said like 12 words to her, we met at stargate on saturday and are going out on friday.
the candlelit dinner would be great if i didnt live with my parents but i do.
I personally would love to take her to Goodfellows in Minneapolis or 510 Resturant but i dont think spending 170 on food for two people is a good idea for a first date....
How much is the average plate at benehanas? and What kind of food is that again? is there a dress code?
Tom

I can hear it now,

"Mom can you bring my date a new fork? this one had some shit on it!"

Oh and Tom, I have bee around people who have had a bill tha big at bennihans! Oh and if you dont make reservations at some point tomorrow I bet you wont get in.

LightningGSX 12-09-2003 01:21 AM

If the girl is even remotely worth your trouble, it won't matter if you take her to benehanas or burger king.I've always had good luck just inviting girls over to hang out, but I seem to attract girls with boyfriends ,so that limits the options on going out somewhere.Anyway as long as you are not dull or a complete idiot it won't matter.Unless you just want to get laid, thats a whole other approach.

tpunx99GSX 12-09-2003 02:10 AM

well im not dull, but the whole idiot thing is another story.... LOL

I went to Goodfellows with my 2 brothers and 2 sisters and the in-laws (1 husband and 2 wives) so a total of 8 people and we ran up a bill of $850.00, It was my parents xmas present to all of us, along with a limo for the night. It was awesome, spendy but awesome.

The only thing about taking her some place expensive is that some women prefer to pay for thier own meal. I've had some that did that. It's usually not a big deal, and I'm not old fashioned or anything, but if she says that after you order, and then the waitress brings her a $50 bill, it might put her on the spot.

tpunx99GSX 12-09-2003 09:17 AM

I have had girls do that as well, but my solution is that ill just grab the check and give the waitress my card. not even letting her see the prices. But yeah im planning on takeing her to benihanas, then maybe to Bowling or a movie then who knows, she isnt 21 so the bar is out of the question.

Benihanas without drinks is cheap. The meals range from about $15/plate for chicken to $25/plate for filet mignon and lobster. Fried rice is an extra couple of bucks and sodas are as well. $50 should easily cover your tab.

Yeah, I got one of the bigger meals it is the samurai triple or something like that, steak chicken and shrimp, it was like 21.95 or 23.95 and it was an assload of food. So $50 - $60 if you go all out but only drink pop/water...
