Discovery Channels : Greatest American.

What do some of you think about this new little series coming up?

AOL has a decent breakdown of the show-

http://tv.channel.aol.com/greatestamerican

People included range from everyting from early sports heros to recent presidents.

When you think of Greatest American ever there are some people on that list that I don't think should be there. From Hilary Robin Clinton to Madonna to Bret Farve. Sure, they have all accomplished alot in their fields but why does that put them in the prospect of greatest American?

I would say there are some great names on the list though. One guy I would say should be up on that list and is a modern day example would be Pat Tillman. The guy who gave up millions in a football lifestyle to go fight and eventually give his life for this country. And give his life through friendly fire at that is a tought one to deal with. It takes a big man to give up playing a game for that much money to go an fight for your country.

I'm glad someone corrected the noob.

The founding fathers are the greatest Americans, IMO... They gave birth to the nation and kept working and fighting in the middle of it falling apart.

Norman Borlaug. He hasn't really done much for America specifically, but he is directly responsible for saving somewhere around a billion lives worldwide.IMO that makes him not only the greatest American, but probably the greatest human to ever live.A billion people, and most don't even know who he is.
