n/t and turbo block itself.
Is there a difference between the n/t 4g63 block and the turbo 4g63T block? Just the block. I know the internals are different and I assume the compression is different. I need a motor to get rebuilt and was curious if getting a n/t block would be a bad route.
I tried the search and got weird threads " like 4g63 powered truck" "7bolt 4g63 4 sale" etc. Thanks in advance, josh |
Re: n/t and turbo block itself.
n/t has differnt piston comprestion and does not have the oil squirters in it but from that they are the same motor

Re: n/t and turbo block itself.
I have run across a couple NT blocks that had the squirter holes plugged with bolts. Others have the bosses there but are not drilled. Even without squirters, you'll be fine as long as you run aftermarket forged pistons. NTs use the same crank and rods also. Heads are the same except for some cams, valve springs and have a plug in place of the oil supply line. NT intakes are the same except they don't have the provision for the BOV.

Will the NT block have the boss tapped for the knock sensor?

The few that I have worked on....yes.

From what I understand, there is already a tapped hole behind either the #2 or #3 cylinder. |

Carlos has a few rebuildable turbo 6 bolt blocks
