Okay here is what im thinking about doing. Laugh and i'll shoot ya.
I want to turbo my 03 eclipse. 2.4 the 4g64

i want to know if the 2g manifold will fit. i know it will fit on a few hondas.
i want to run a t25. my motor should take well to about 7 psi. a 1g front mount would be nice for this setup. I would need an FMU most likely i dont run enough fuel as is.
if you have ever looked under the hood of a3g with a 4cyl there is SO MUCH ROOM.

we turboed my buddies crx and his car was functional for under 300 dollars. after the MBC and boost gauge and fmu he had right about 500 into it. the car is running strong, and fast. well faster then before.

Allan, and Raptor
if qpr wants to sponser a car with an easy project that just sounds hard, i will put as many stickers as you guys can fit on my car. I mean take a slow ass car and make it half way respectible. If you two are interested let me know. costs would be minimal.

Talk to Mark at TKR, he's on here somewhere. He turbo'd his Eclipse Spyder 2.4, he said the turbo manifold bolts right up. I'm guessing the bolt pattern is the same for your car. You'll probably want a thicker head gasket to lower your compression a bit.

2003eclipse 12-04-2003 01:28 PM

good i was hoping it would, does he have pics or any tech he could share with me. im sure he does.

DONTATIONS kindly accepted.

what kind of times does he run??????

It might work. The 4G64 on the 3G Eclipse's is not the same as the one in the 97-99 4G64 Spyder though. Everything is flipped around. The tranny is on the drivers side, the timingbelt is on the passenger side, the power steering pump is on the passenger side, the battery is on the drivers side, etc. Kinda like comparing the setup of the 4G63 in the EVO 8s to the one in the DSMs. The turbo would still be on the front of the motor, but the rest is like looking in a mirror. The cast manifold used on the Dougs Dynopower 4-cylinder 3G turbo kit sure does look like a 2G manifold in the tiny pic I found though. A T25 would be a bad turbo for a motor that size though. At the very least get a 14B.

2003eclipse 12-04-2003 02:00 PM

well i want to run little boost, well i can control boost with and mbc but would a t25 spike or what would happen. whats the price on a 14b?
what kind of boost does he run?
keap the comments coming please.

Shane@DBPerformance 12-04-2003 03:28 PM

Used 14Bs go for $100-$150. They were the stock turbos on the 90-94 DSMs. They flow a lot more air than a T25. T25s and 14Bs run around 9-12psi stock with thier wastegate actuator you can't use an MBC to make it run lower boost than the actuator runs on its own. You will have to do a ghetto trick like bending or modding the actuator arm to cause the flapper door to be open all the time, then it might run be able to run a lower boost at the cost of spoolup. But spoolup will not be a be problem with the 2.4 anyways.

found this on eclipseforums.org of a guys mods and numbers on the dyno at the wheels, i figure at the wheels i have 105 to 110 horse. and this guy is running 217 to the wheels.

API turbo setup. 2003 gs 5-speed.

t3/t4 turbo
440cc r/c injectors
external wastegate
greddy blow-off
front intercooler
greddy e-manage
holley fuel pump
hks boost controller
apexi turbo timer
apexi boost/egt gauge
plus a few other things here and there.

217.0 whp (8 psi)
243.5 lb/ft tq. all on stock exhaust

A GT already has that much power. I thought you had a GT? Guess not.

I wouldnt even bother modding it... unless its like under 500 bucks. I dont think it will cost that cheap.

Goat Blower 12-04-2003 09:49 PM

A GT has that much to the flywheel, not the wheels. Big difference. A V6 GT would probably put down about 150 to the wheels.

Might want to get in touch with these guys, seems they like to tinker with a variety of vehicles, including the 3Gs.

Kapers... Find someone with an old Turbo Magazine from 2001. They do it in there. They used the DDP kit with a T25 and a FMIC. It was on a spyder. Went from a 17.2 to a 14.5.... Not bad...

no i have a gs 2.4 with a 5spd
dont bother my ass

we turboed my buddies crx hes in the low 14's high 13's now and i used to beat him by about 4 cars in the 1/4 after all said and done with fmu air fuel gauge boost gauge manual boost controller and all the parts for the turbo and other misc. parts it ran about 650 dollars. does anyone else find that bad to shave about 4 seconds off your 1/4 time?????

A//// Guy 12-07-2003 07:31 PM

Do what you want its your car... a non turbo engine was not made for boost, But whatever.

many people have produced good numbers on a 64, it might sound trivial but the extra displacement produces more torque at a lower rpm, you just cant rev the piss out of it like you can the 2.0s

How does this guy think he'll run a 12 second quarter mile with a small ass turbo that doesn't flow much air? Because he's running close to a 15ish e/t to begin with. Also, there is absolutely no way that he could, with bpu's on a non-turbo 3g, beat him by "4 car lengths" when his friend was running high 13's. I am waving my BS flag.

Thank you for being the second retard to post in this thread in three years, forcing me to click more buttons than I care to so that no more retards post in 3 year old threads quoting three year old posts. Retards.
