non turbo to turbo

i own a nonturbo 93 laser 4g63,and found out i need the bottom end rebuilt. (auto trans). i blew a piston and some fun stuff. well my dad knows a guy who can get an engine and swap it in. was wondering if i got a turbo enging swaped in, what i would have to look for. would it match up w/ the trans and what not. please any info would help. i have no idea i know its a 4g63 but not sure if its a 6 or 7 bolt, or if it matters. just any information of what i need would be great. thanks

Just go out and buy a turbo model, it'll be a lot cheaper.

Just do some searching, this subject has been covered numerous times. Though its not a great idea to do this, it is possible and has been done lots of times. You will have to spend quite a bit of money to get the HP that you would get out of a stock DSM. Its all what you want out of your car.

It does however make for a good sleeper. Engine, Tranny and ECU as well as a fair amount of wiring all have to be done as well as the supporting components like exhaust system IC and piping etc. It is a huge project but if you have the parts and equipment to do it, not that terrible. You just have to be patient and methodical.
