Can someone please identify this part for me.
1 Attachment(s)
Ok, so i put a bunch of stuff back together on my car last night and most of the stuff that was laying on the floor to be put back on, is on. However i found this part laying on the ground. I have no clue what it is or where it goes and now it bothers me badly. It's about 1.25" long. It's a made of rubber and is hollow, rectangular shaped hole. Can anyone please help me ASAP?
Thank you. **Edit** Ok, let's try this instead. I resized the pic. -Rocky |

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
Ya, i just went to marketing and said snap me a pic of this and email it to me. It's not the clearest. It's pretty small maybe 1.25" x 1" and is in the shape of a v. It's rubber. You can squeeze it, crush it, twist it. Seems like it's a vent of some sort. Somebody has had to of seen or dealt with this before.

They are on the outside of the transmission

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
I think i know which ones you're referring to. There is two on the outside of the tranny on the top side almost below the thermostat housing. Those have a round grommet type part that goes into the tranny and the spout is retangular or oval shaped. This is a little different. It's completely rectangular all the way through and a bit smaller. Does this go on the tranny in conjuction to what i mentioned above?
thanks. |

Think of it as weight reduction!

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
haha! Yeah and i might gain a half sec too hah? Just like the hosers that come to Rock Falls and gut their car out and still go slow.
Somebody will know what this is. It just bugs me. |
Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
Ah, I didn't realize it was different than the ones on top. If no one has replied with what it is by tonight I'll take a look around and see if I can't find it on mine.

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
Thanks for your time. I put my transmission back in a couple nights ago. I don't think there is anything that goes on the inside of the bellhousing(clutch side). It's gotta be a vent to something. I'm gonna check my headlights tonight. I have both of them removed. Maybe there is a vent tube on them. It has dust on the inside of it so it's not an internal part.
Thanks for checking later. |
Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
I'm pretty sure that's from the thing below the cruize control actuator (it's attached to the same braket. Mine falls off a lot when working in that area.
It would be next to the circle thing under the actuator in the yellow square. http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Eng...seactuator.htm |
Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
I circled in red where I think that piece is in the pic:

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
looks like one of the vent tubes on the outside top of the belhousing. this monitor is kinda so its hard for me to see.

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
It looks like the drain tube on the fire wall for the a/c heater core box.

Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
Nice response over night. Well i know it's not the headlight vent. The headlight does have a vent but it's a tube.
It very well could be something for the cruise control actuator or the a/c heater core box. As a matter of fact it was laying almost directly below the cruise control area. I will check on my lunch break when i go home. I will post the result when i get it. Thanks for the great help. |
Re: Can someone please identify this part for me.
Mystery solved: Right on CDeutsch. It goes on the cruise control actuator. There is a little place for it that it pops right on. Looks like there is a little foam in where it goes as a filter.
Thank you very much to you and to all who attempted to help. |
