You should probably introduce yourself first....

Oh come on now Peter, no need to pick on him. Just because he didn't introduce himself, mention which AFC he is using, describe why he trying to use an AFC in a GM vehicle, or show any sign of prior research before posting this thread does not mean it's ok to pick on him.

You're Steve Wrisky's friend right? Is this for that Camaro you have? You should be running speed density anyway

Re: AFC II for non DSM??

ive looked into the speed density swap, and it seems its more finiki. i just want to be able to adjust fuel and timing as needed. and SORRY for no introduction, my name is Joe, and i previously owned a few DSMs but am not proud of it. as for what AFC, i dont have one, but steve has one hes thinkin of selling, and i was just curious if it would work.

Eric, what do you have/know about for the MAF to SD swap?

im sure the next question will be why post here? the fbody boards around here dont seem to have much knowledge on ECU tunning etc. and i know that eric knows his shit.

Re: AFC II for non DSM??

An AFC should work if it is a 0-5volt Hotwire MAF or 0-5volt MAP sensor. We use GM MAFs and MAPS on our cars and those are 0-5volts, so it should work.

Re: AFC II for non DSM??

The GM MAFs DSMers use are Hz output just like the OEM karman sensors.I'm not sure if the AFC is capable of the high frequencies GM MAFs output. If you use speed density, which depending on your ECU, is probably just a matter of changing EPROM code, you could use the AFC to alter the 0-5v MAP input like Ecoli said
