More Truck Fun with the Dodge
Well today I finally took the truck out for a little spin to see how if there is anything that might "stop" me from trying to drive the truck down to IA for some serious work. Started and ran great. Shifted alright for the condition it was in and no overheating issues like I had before. So I'm thinking sweet! I might be able to drive it down. Well while applying the brakes they felt weird. Not loose, not tight just differant. Took it back home and low and hehold both front tires are smoking like a banshee. The brakes got sooo fucking hot after some light braking I could hear sizzeling and there was noticable smoke. The Smoke was hot enough to possibly steam burn my ass.
So I don't think a near 3 hour trip to IA is in order just yet :( |

Rusty pistons/caliper pins is my guess.

I'm not a brake guy. This be a pita to do myself? Costly?

Re: More Truck Fun with the Dodge
You may just be able to take them off and scotch brite them. Brakes are easy as hell. Worst case scenario, get some new calipers and swap them out, but then you have to bleed the brakes. Not a big deal either though.
