Rallycross Feb 13th

It's finally time again to rallycross!

Join us for the first event of the 2005 SCCA LOL rallycross
series: "Treadin' on Thin Ice"

February 13th at the Donavan Farm in Rochester Minnesota.

It will be a good time on the snow and ice mix! The name for the
event has been used I believe for a while but with the 1/8-1/4 inch
of ice underneath the 2-3 inches of snow, the name is pretty literal.
We will have a grill provided: so bring your own hotdogs or brats
(easier food to cook and eat in the winter than hamburgers). We will
also provide hotdog buns, ketsup and mustard and the sort. I have a
friend who will vollunteer to be the grillmaster for the day.

I would love to attend if I wasn't down in Ames. You'll have to get someone to take some good pictures!

You don't have any beaters laying around?

BTW, there's a rallycross event tomorrow up in Lindstrom, MN (just east of Stacy I believe). It starts at around 9am and costs $40. I can get more details if anyone is interested.

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

It's a blast!!!

They are still trying to determine whether or not this one will be run. With the warm temps this past week they are worried about how well the ground will hold up. It looks like the temps are going to get cold again so everything should be good. We'll see as the week progresses. I'll keep you posted as the date gets closer.

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

Any chance I can hitch a ride with someone?

AJ 02-06-2005 01:59 PM

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

Your welcome to hitch with Mark and I. We will be taking the 1.8 down to beat the shit out of. But if you want to clame the back seat your more than welcome.

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

Otherwise I will have an empty seat in the matchbox. You're more than welcome to ride with me.

That sounds more comfortable than the backseat.

Where should I go look for a helmet this week so I can ride along with you guys? What specs does it need?

MATCHBX 02-06-2005 10:55 PM

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

It has to be Snell rated M95 or better. DOT helmets won't work. I have an extra one that I will be bringing with me.

AJ 02-06-2005 11:28 PM

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

I sold my helmet last year so I am gonna need to borrow one if I can't find one by then.

MATCHBX 02-07-2005 05:34 PM

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

I think they have 3 or 4 loaners also. At least that's what they had last year. They stay in the trailer now with all the cones so they should have them there.

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

Do you guys want to meet up at Jake's down in Coates again? Say maybe 8am?

Sounds like it is still going to be run so I am making plans to be there.

AJ 02-10-2005 08:07 PM

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

I gotta see when/where I am meeting Mark. And Matt D if you want you can always ride with me down to Eric since it's on the way as well. I just hope I can wake up on time.

Re: Rallycross Feb 13th

I might see about renting a car dolly and dollying the CRX down. If so, I'll have extra room for people to ride with me.
