If so, its kemmy, whats goin on man? Decide to ditch the lude, or you keeping for a daily driver??

Welcome! Yes, punctuation should become your friend. ;)

I would recommend the basic mods first (boost controller, boost gauge, etc). Then it just depends how fast you want to be or how much hp you want to make. :)

Iceman 11-25-2003 09:31 PM

Hey keemy its james, todds cusin. Yeah he got the GSX the other day and still has the lude. MODS on his car: boost gauge, TT (HKS), rust, and intake filter. Its white with white top i think? Pictures are doutful.

We know its a 3 bolt rear, but the engine where not sure on. We saw the picture of how the oil pan is different but was hard to tell, and cold.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread...&threadid=58328 <- link for foggy headlight fix.

3 bolt rears come on 6 bolts (I am pretty sure atleast). You just didn't get the 6/4. Cannot launch past 6000 like me ;)

A 92 should have the 4 bolt rear end. Unless someone swapped it out. Having a 3 bolt rear end just means you can't launch it as hard as the 4 bolt rear due to snapping axles. No one that knows how to launch launches over 6k anyways.

JET 11-27-2003 11:02 PM

That is the whole point of the early 92's, you get a 4 bolt rear with a 6 bolt engine. You just need the big brakes then and you are set. I have three 6/4's :P

slowbubblecar 11-28-2003 12:22 AM

92tsiawd84 got a newer looking 92 with a 7 bolt motor and a 4 bolt rear. Todd has the newer looking 92 (not pop up headlights).

CVD 11-28-2003 12:40 AM

no 92 ever came with pop up headlights.

Question people, What is so great about a 6 bolt engine and 4 bolt rear?

The 6 bolt engine, out of '90-'99 DSM engines, is the one that has proven to be less prone to crankwalk. In the early part of '92 the blocks of the DSM went from a 6 bolt to 7 bolt. The 4 bolt rearend was substitued for the 3 bolt rearend in '92 and is a stronger rearend.

6 bolt has a better block. Less prone to crankwalk and it has "big" (stronger) rods.

I could be wrong but I believe all 1G shortblocks (6 or 7 bolt) came with the "big rods."

CVD 02-05-2004 09:46 AM

Nope. The 6 bolt rods are the Big Rods.
