Main Bearing Cap order
 

My friend disassembled his 6 bolt 2.4L and he says he has everything in little baggies the order they came off. I'm just wondering, if for whatever reason they arent in the right order, what will happen? Do they really have to go on in the same place they came off? They are all the same, right? I'm a newb to this stuff so please be understanding.

They must be in the correct order unless you're line boring the main journals. But you're in luck, the G4CS motor has numbered caps from 1-5 starting at the front of the motor and the arrows on the caps also point to the front.
