Texas Hold-em tourney
Thinking of doing one of these tonight, just like the old days. $20 buy in or $10, winner take all, or enough people have a few levels of payout.
If interested give the shop a buzz. Oh and we need chips, haha, we'll play at the house. Otherwise we'll nickel/dime it for various games like every weekend. Either or, if you want to play cards tonight, come on over, we'll figure something out. |
We might just do change again since some people can't get out here till later. Either way, bring your change jar or cash and donate it to me since it is my Birthday ;)

So are you guys thinkin about playing again tonight? I'd like to try and make it up there if I can convince someone to take me. ;)

Yep, we will play again tonight. More likely change, bring as much as you want. I would say another tourney, but that limits too many things like when you can show up and leave etc. I was up till 4:15 last night and ended up splitting with Chris cause I couldn't keep my eyes open any more. For those who think change is weak, we have many pots that are over $20 per pot, not too uncommon. If you are good, you can make a pretty decent amount of money. The other thing with change is that we can call dealers choice and vary the types poker we play. Omaha, 7 card stud, 5 card stud, 5 card draw, Anaconda, Blind mans, and of course holdem are all fun, the dealer can even choose to be the house at blackjack if they want. Makes things more entertaining. Most people still just opt to play holdem though. Either way, come on down, we will probably start at 8:00 but you can come earlier or later if you like.

I wish you guys were in Madison... I know of a bunch of places that hold these tournies. Mostly $25 buyin with over 50 people (Usually about 70-75) last 8 get paid. There are also some smaller games with a $45 buy in limited to 40 people top 3 get paid. Then I know of a bunch of guys that play open poker (Buy in and cash out). Starts at $20 a person and you can buy in at whatever the chip leader holds (Usually about $150-$300 in a few hours). The top winner usually wins over $300. If you guys are ever in Madison let me know and we will set some shit up!

Maybe I will get in with you guys sometime... how many people you guys normally get together and would you guys be willing to play open poker? I could probably get 1 other guy to come for sure and Vassil and his Brother if I could convince them sometime. I will be needing to go to Mnpls sometime and get my car tuned anyways. And also, how much you guys normally willing to spend (Or make)?
