Holy Shit Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That makes Earnhardt Jr's LeMans burn/crash look like nothing
It's amazing he was not burned to death, although he did look pretty rough.

dayam... poor guy..

As a person who's organized smaller events, stuff like that is what i feared... something going wrong..

i had events with 360 gamers plus another 100 to 150 visitors and it was definetely a nerve wrecking seing some people pluging in their 3 power supply computers and seing some activities over the network caused me to actually kick out a few people... but there is no way of preventing crashes or in my case virus spreading etc etc..

Holy crap I just noticed something I didn't catch the first like 6 times around.

when the Ferrari hits the porsche watch the tower and the guys flagging....

A//// Guy 11-01-2004 01:42 PM

That is NUTS!

Do Porsches have the gas tanks in the front or what? I thought they were in the middle? Well I guess it is all custom so it was prolly a fuel cell in the back? Or in the trunk (front) compartment?

I wonder if that guy made it?

No thanks

If you stop the video at 26seconds and slowly advance the film you can see clearly the tower caught on fire, either the flagger or the flags were engulfed in Flames.. but the tower was definetely on fire.

The sound effects surely were added in, which make it sort of unrealistic although more dramatic.

It's hard to say where the fuel cell of either car is. Both cars are rear engine RWD, so it would mean the cell is somewhere in the rear of the car near the engine, or in the front in between the suspension, which I believe the latter would make more sense as far as weight distribution goes.

HOLY CRAP!!!

Why hold a race in weather like that?

A//// Guy 11-01-2004 08:37 PM

If you look in the begining of the film, the weather really wasn't that bad you can clearly see signs in the background, etc.. it wasn't till the cars went by that the visibility got really bad.

CVD 11-03-2004 01:54 PM

Vid 1 broken?

Matt D. 11-03-2004 09:46 PM

A year or two ago CART held a race in Mexico I believe in a really bad rain storm. Not only was the visibility horrible to begin with, but as soon as the cars started moving it was impossible to see. Imagine only being able to make out the siloette of the flag stand on that first video. As soon as the green flag dropped someone spun a collected half of the field (usually only 24 or so cars in a Champ Car race) and littered the front straight with cars and parts. Needless to say CART cancelled the race for the day. It's unfortunate that some racing organizations are too blinded by their money and put the lives of racing teams and track crews in jeopardy.
