Hey everyone, I hope you dont get upset about this, but i figured it be interesting to all....
Len Ayala... who WAS with Hahn, now has his own deal goin on. Anyways... Hes got some impressive numbers now.... feel free to check it out! I just about dropped my jaw.... as this is his STREET CAR!! http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?...p=961440#961440 Damn! Im glad I finally got into this turbo game! Now I need some schoolin from you folks! Chris |
He probably doesn't want to post his graph because the turbo doesn't spool til 5500 rpms. Pretty impressive numbers though. Sounds like about a 60-1, then add nitrous.
From my understanding hes being very confidential because hes "secretive"
EDIT... its his daily driver, full interior, radio, and only aftermarket gauge in it is a boost gauge. Well thats what it was in July. LOL He got kicked out of RT 66 for runnin 11s with no cage! :toast: |
The term street car is very flexible. John drove his Galant everyday for two weeks after it was running. So that means it was a street car till it was gutted at the end of the season right? My point is the definition of street car can be flexed quite a ways. But seeing the fact that he's still on the stock ECU I'm guessing it is fairly streeetable (almost within normal people's tolerances). That was lesson #1, the term street car can be applied to any thing that will run at part throttle. Lesson #2, if your complain about turbo lag now, you will not like the lag required to make that much power. :stick:
Well then, get me some lag! :bounce:
The turbo might not be that big. Probably around 50-trim size. His torque is pretty good for the HP for a 2.0, so it can't be that huge. If it was an extremely laggy setup the difference between the HP and torque numbers should be a bit bigger. 470HP off the bottle isn't too crazy, shooting a 100 shot on a turbo 4 cylinder takes some balls though.
Its a super 20g i think:bounce:
Im not surprised one bit i mean they got a 2.4L making able for a bigger turbo and better spool up.. I dout everyone well be as well off as he was but im sure its possible... anyway looks good you going to get it?
so is that on the stock bottom end? S20g? hmmm, i don't think they can push enough air to make that much power honestly. but maybe since its a 2.4....? really good numbers though, right up there with Smithy
upon rereading, this isn't an Srt4 is it. just a built up neon |
I assume its the 2.0l 420A motor.
damn i wish i could get those kinda results after dynoing my car. definately impressive. But a s20g? i thought those things were barely capable of pushin like 450hp. but whatever he's using sure seems to work.
Those are respectable numbers for a Neon, regardless of spool up and nitrous. B)
im honestly thinking it is a 60-1 t3/t4 w/.63 a/r. Or maybe a tdo6 s20g. What is weird is the little torque gained from the 100 shot. +122hp and only +93 torque. Oh well nice numbers....
.... but still a neon  |
He might not have hit the nitrous early in the RPMs or something.

I dont know what turbo for sure, but I thought it was a S20g. I do know its the 2.0L, the 420A is the "Mitsu" version of the chrsler made 2.0... So 420a refers to the NA eclipse 2.0 2g.... but yea its a 2.0 Neon motor.

thats kind of what I was thinking, running out of room for 'flow', good point on the high horsepower vs. stock :). (ease of improvement). Still impressive numbers for a 420A motor. |
My bad i thought it was for a SRT-4 which is why i put 2.4L yeah still amazing number though... I can only imgane how long it will last though... ;)
