What engines came in what eclipses and which ones are desirable mostly looking on carsoup and i think people dont know whats in there cars.
---...---Thor |
v8 came in most of them, but some came with a v5
|
|
On carsoup it sometimes mistakenly inserts a V6 24V motor in the engine slot. They all came with 4 cylinders.

The good ones:
1990-1994 4G63 DOHC 2.0L Inline 4 Cylinder Turbocharged Referred to as 1G's Came in GSX models, Rare GS Turbo (FWD), Eagle Talon TSi AWD and FWD, and Plymouth Laser RS front and AWD. 1995-1999 4G63 DOHC 2.0L Inline 4 Cylinder Turbocharged Referred to as 2G's Different Turbo, and a few other things. Came in GSX and GST Eclipse models, Eagle Talon TSi FWD and AWD Models. 2000+ 6G72 SOHC 3.0L V6 Non Turbo and 3.0L SOHC V6 MIVEC Referred to as Crap. or 3g's Available in GT and GTS Trim. All Models FWD. Stay away from personal experience. |
i would consider the Evo the 3g since it is the 3rd generation to use the 4g63 in the US.

Is an evo and eclipse? I think not... its a totally different car. Therefore its not a 3G eclipse.
|
Don't forget about the all powerfull 420a in the rs and gs models.
My spyder has a 2.4L 4g64 single overhead cam. |
i can't believe someone forgot the 92hp fury machine that is the 1.8L
or the 4g64 in the n/a spyder. |

I would consider a 3g in reference to the american 4g63's. Not really the eclipse name. Too me a 90-99 NT doesn't exist, its not competition, its just there to be riced out. Besides, really want to make the ultimate 3g, evo setup in a 2000-Up Eclipse. |
