Well got my est back on getting the Dodge fixed up. A $9,000 truck and a bill that is at $5200 right now. New tranny, front calipers, rotors, pads, ball joines, battery, and some other shit.
So yeah anyone know of any local or online truck places speak now please! |
What about the thread discussing this from wayyyy back when? I believe people posted up some suggestions then.

Call around to some reputable tranny rebuild shops and get some estimates. The dealer is rarely your best option here. Do the brake and ball joint stuff yourself, that's easy.

Like i told Allan, take it to a trany shop like Kenedy transmissions.. they will do diagnostic for $60 i think and tell you exactly whats wrong, and apply that $60 towards the repair if you decide to repair it..
I had them fix my 93grand prix trany as well as my friends truck and diagnosed my truck trany as well.. all work done good and on time.. kenedy transmissions up on osborne and university... they had my truck in and out of there in 3 hours.. also gave me a free tun up of the bands too.. -E |
I am calling tranny places now. they want $5200 for everything. $1900 + $1100 for rebuilt tranny w/install.

I've heard good things about Master transmission. Whenever we've had problems we've just taken it there and they have been really good about it.
|
I agree with Kenedy. My parents had tauruses, so we know the tranny business :( Are you going to have the shop install it?
|
I just called Kennedy Trans up here in Elk River so it's close to me and sounds like I will get the truck put back up on the E Ride soon. lol

e train is ready!!!
i have a car to two tomorow too, but i can do it right after i tow another car from rosemount... -E |
Call Richfield transmissions to rebuild the tranny, or buy a low mile used tranny from an auto salvage center.
Then have my brother install it, he will also do the rest of the work if you want him too for little $$$. Send me a PM.... Jim |
Hey aj try dakotausa.com. I am sure someone will know where to get one for cheaper. (sorry i have been gone for a wile but dsmstyle is in the filtered section of the net at school now.

Call Jeff Peternell and told him I sent you. He is an old friend and owner of Mechanical Auto service in Hanover. He specializes in trannys and builds good dtuff at a good price. He can probable do the rest too but I would just do all the front end stuff myself. Its a pain, but it doesn't cost anything if you do it yourself.
