Wheel stud broke off today. Obviously I want to fix it asap but I've been neglecting to many other things 'cause I'm always working on this car. The soonest I could fix it is this weekend if I have to otherwise it would be another week if I could wait. I have to drive everyday but how un/safe is this?
This now puts me in the mid-twenties for broken bolts. Thanks guys |
You should be fine to drive for a while, unless you plan on running at the track.

I didn't think it'd be a serious problem for a short time but a second opinion helps. Thanks

Can't be too bad, Cher was running 11's with a broken wheel stud.

Hondas only have 4. :)

You will be fine as long as the others are torqued down. Since you snapped one, I am pretty sure they are atleast to spec ;) . Atleast they are not too bad to replace. Just pound one out and put the other in. Did you use an 600# impact wrench to tighten it or something?

Nah he doesn't need one of those, you should see Austin's pythons. He needs a dictionary because of all them definitions!
btw, if you find some deal on them, could you pick me one up too? I've been running one of my wheels on 4 studs since the day I bought the damn thing. |
I ran for a while with only 4 studs on my front wheel. mainly because I kept forgetting about it. I ran about 3 rallycrosses with it that way before the tech inspector brought it to my attention. Shouldn't be a problem as long as the other 4 are torqued properly.
