are you sure its compressor surge and not an improperly tightened down bov?

if its real comp surge, buy an anti-surge comp housing (cover)

JET 10-05-2004 10:27 PM

Enes, don't you have a 16g or T28? They are not going to surge on a DSM. You will only surge bigger turbo's. It has to be a different problem.

He has a 50 trim or something now.

Enes, what makes you think you have compressor surge? If it's when you let off the gas it's most likely your BOV fluttering.

A//// Guy 10-05-2004 10:32 PM

I doubt your having compressor surge.

Enes 10-05-2004 11:15 PM

if i say its a freaken compressor surge, its a freaken compressor surge.. jeez.. lol

yes it is a 50 trim..

and if shane says its compressor surge, i'd trust him more than me.. but either way.. yes its compressor surge...

when im WOT it start spooling, gets to about 23# air /min, then it starts stuttering..

new spark plugs.. etc..
we used good coils, we used good little damn plug whatever next to coils.. and new spark plug wires as well as new spark plugs..

still stuttered..
not BOV i checked if its fluttering and it wasn't.. and it wasn't leaking at all on 25 psi..

i think next in line will have to be Intake mani, cams and throtle body..

there goes damn 1200 down the exhaust..

It is real compressor surge. It happens on spoolup in the low 4000s. Same shit that Nash and Blake have had happen.

Enes 10-05-2004 11:27 PM

NVM... hows that saying go....

Enes Im not arguing with you... So why do you post "funny" stuff all the time....

I just needed some proof, and now that Shane has spoken I got it ;)

MustGoFaster 10-05-2004 11:45 PM

It surges because your engine isn't taking in enough air. So your suggestions of intake mani, cams and throttle body are a step in the right direction. That CAI really helped, maybe I should get one...

Enes 10-05-2004 11:48 PM

it was the CAI and the Lower IC pipe.. went from 1 7/8 to 2 1/4 and all went to shit from there ;) ..

Mike you know what i'm waiting for ;)

A zap in the ass from the welder?

Raptor 10-06-2004 11:13 AM

You would benefit from a larger TB (if you still have that 2G one on there) and maybe upper piping as well (I don't remember what you have on there at the moment) I am working on the intake Manifolds, (5 of them over the next week) and we can always get you cams.

Good to see the new piping was effective ;)

CDeutsch 10-06-2004 11:22 AM

What did you do for a CAI? Any pics? If not I suppose I'll just have to go to Rock Falls and see for myself. ;)
