Is a 1g 7 bolt any better than a 2g 7 bolt? Why or why not? Are they the same blocks?

Same shortblock, different head.

They also don't have a crankwalk sensor. Also I think the mounts are different, as the 1G 7bolts have engine mounts and the 2g's have tranny mounts. It's probably just some a machining differences though.

I think there are a few differences, I don't remember seeing engine mount holes on the front and back of a 2G block. The 1G 7-bolts are weak though and prone to crankwalk, just not as much as the 95-96 flavor.

1g 7-bolts still have the lower compression pistons unlike the 2g ones
