you best bet is to put a tiny drop of super glue on the key side that you have..
and stick it in there... hold it there a bit and hope it wasnt too big of a drop ...

and then try pulling it out slowly..

Hey perfect time for winter, now you might as well just go by a remote start with keyless entry. Then there is no need for a key. WOOT...

It will be a son of a bitch getting that key out with out taking the ignition out. And you don't want to mess with that much cause you can screw up the tumblers and then the ignition is fucked.

Drive it to a locksmith and they can take it out. I have done it before on house locks. All you need is the right pick. Then it isn't too hard. (I work at a hardware store that does locksmithing)

What is that gonna run me?

john 11-15-2003 09:52 PM

I did it for someone on a deadbolt. I only charged them $2 because I didn't know how much it was supposed to cost and it took me 2 min. I am not sure about a car lock though. Where are you located? Try calling Hance Ace Hardware on monday around 5 or so and ask for Jeff. He will give you a price quote.

I live in Apple Valley.

Just look up a local locksmith then. It shouldn't cost much more than $20 if you bring the car to them and they get it out in a reasonable amount of time. I will ask him when I see him though. See what he would've charged. That will give you some idea how much $.

The locksmith i called wanted anywhere from $75- 300!!! Does anyone know anybody who could do it for me?

Enes 11-16-2003 12:28 PM

Like i mentioned...

I did it on my car before.. i put a small drop very small.. on the end of the key and then put it in, that will fuse the two parts together and then pull it out..

also jb weld would work as well, just a small dot..

And what happens if it gets stuck?

How long do i leave it on for?

Enes 11-16-2003 02:20 PM

use just a small dot of it, and put it on the side of the key.. and push it in and leave it about 5 seconds and pull it slowly back out... it worked on my oldsmobile 7 years ago .... but i've never taken the keylocks on DSMs there should be something to push against so that it sticks

jpretz 11-16-2003 02:32 PM

Why would i put it on the side of the key???

Enes 11-16-2003 03:06 PM

ok.....

lets see...

use logic.. put glue where two peaces would come together...

broken peace

BBBB

your key part

===KKKKK

Now put glue between B and =

get it?

You would put the glue on the tip of the key then (where it probly broke). Call other losksmiths. I wouldn't use the glue idea myself. What if it gets stuck? Then you will be paying mitsu a lot for a new lock. I will call our locksmith and see what he charges as I have tomorrow off.

jpretz 11-16-2003 06:02 PM

OK thanks! Where are you located? :3gears:

john 11-16-2003 06:43 PM

I am in Hopkins. About 30min from Apple Valley. He is alos a mobile locksmith meaning that he would go out and do it for you also. It would be much cheaper to drive to him though. I will get quotes tomorrow for if you come here and if he goes there.

Iceman 11-16-2003 08:03 PM

Jpretz I know you can do it. Even if you are a girl i still think you can handle it... You should be okay though... if you really really really need help ill get john to go up there and help you :P. Or me i guess eh whatever.

jpretz 11-16-2003 10:41 PM

:toast: Well some guy is coming out here tom. to look into buying it. Hopefully he will. But still please post up quotes! I appreciate it!
