http://www.illz.net/realbusa.avi

this is a segment i clipped out of the Ghostrider DVD .. it's a 500HP turbo Hayabusa

500HP

in the clip, he does power wheelies at 180+ mph (speedo is in kph), in the rain

huh???

the first year the hayabusa gsxr-1300 was released it did 200mph stock

Raptor 09-22-2004 01:42 PM

This was a honduh 1000 from what I heard. Right after the guy got the ticket, he called 93X and told them, it was funny and I don't think anyone believed it. But then I read about it on KSTP, funny stuff. The guy was 20 and got a no endorsement ticket as well. He slowed down to 100 to let his friend catch up and the heli had troopers waiting on the highway ahead of him. It will be interesting to see what the fines ended up.

The thing is I know who this kid is. He used to work with me before he was fired. But anyway there is no way his bike could do anywhere near 200 mph. So I am going to say the highly technical measurement of stop watch and counting whites lines may be off just a tad bit on this one. The kid rode a Rc51 which is a v twin 1000 nothing like the CBR1000 which is the inline 4 which btw would still not even come close to 200mph without major modifications. They are pretty comparable to a 600 on top end maybe a little quicker. And this kids bike was not really modified either just slip on mufflers.

A//// Guy 09-22-2004 02:35 PM

Yea im sure their measurement is a bit off but.

LightningGSX 09-22-2004 02:47 PM

I guess, whatever bike he was on, had a max speed of 179 mph(according to the manufacturer). That and the publicity this incident is getting, coupled with how inaccurate VASCAR is at high speed, will make for an interesting court battle.

SlowWhite 09-22-2004 02:53 PM

Well I would have tried to go for the record the other day - but I came up on my exit to quick. And I wasn't about to keep going based on what was going on at that time. But I'll just say my GSX can at least go as High as I've had my GS-T.

For those that have known me for a while know how fast I've had my GS-T upto.

1slowdsm 09-22-2004 02:57 PM

Since I dont know you, I'm gonna have to ask. How high was that?

Is it possible for a non-turbo Plymouth Laser RS to reach a top speed of 156 stock? There was this kid who used to go to my school who said he got his car up to 156...I didnt believe him at all.

A//// Guy 09-22-2004 03:04 PM

^ haha NO.

Enes 09-22-2004 03:04 PM

doubt it, and if it did, it would have to go down hill with Ivan storm winds blowing behind him helping him..

i've not burried my spedo yet, but i was very very close.. if my EGT warning light didn't turn red i would of burried it, but since it got to about 920 i backed off very close to burying it ;)
