Wyo Tech or some shit like that.

Yes, WyoTech is it.

There is also another one called Universal Technical Institute (UTI). They offer your basic auto tech and marine tech stuff, an actual certified NASCAR technician course. They also have graduate programs that focus on one single manufacturer - Audi, BMW, International, Jaguar, Mercedez Benz, Porsche, VW, and Volvo. The graduate courses offer paid tuition by the manufacturer and you get to touch their cars a lot.

Which program are you going into?

I want to go to UTI for the NASCAR tech stuff... But wouldn't mind getting auto tech certification and get in with BMW or someone. Still looking at my hand before I play my cards and decide on what I want to do for school, don't really want to throw away 5+ years of IT experience.

Just keep in mind Matt, when the time comes and someone is really looking for your background, there will be no such thing as tossing away experiance. You'll always have it, but a chance to add to it is untouchable.

I went to UTI in chicago, then proceded to the Volvo graduate program.
I now have a job in minneapolis as a tech at a volvo dealer.

worked out good for me.

Through reading their online documentation it seems they're picky about who gets into the graduate programs... Is that the case? What did you do for housing, etc.?

as long as you have like 98% and up attendance and get a higher than 3.0, your fine for most of the programs...
Bmw is super picky over who they choose, jaguar can be difficult, but to get into porsche you pretty much need 100% attendance and a 4.0.

the school is pretty strict on attendance, you miss 2 days of a class and you have to retake it...
