So some of you might remember a thread a while back about a highway in the middle of the mountains or something that's full of twisty's.

Well my brother took a Trip with a bunch of his BMW friends to that place. On there way to the BMW Homecoming.

He took some picts and gave me some links. Thought I share.. Those pictures And I think someday a DSMSTYLE road trip down there is in order.

Matt D this would be right up your Allie if it wasn't a public road.

if you check out the Killboy site they have some awesome pictures.

Keep clicking throught the (previously on ) button at the bottom and scan through them all.

There are some really sweet shots, some really crazy crash's caught on film, And some shots at the local track.

I guess this isn't to far from where my parents live in South Carolina as my brother asked them to come up in there RV. I just got off the phone with my mother and she said it was the best time she'd had in years.

Said the BMW Plant makes this a huge ordeal. It was originally started by a few guys that wanted to show apprecaition to BMW and since this is the only plant in America where they make BMW's or something. They caravaned out there had a Beer Fest/BBQ and started doing it annually over the last 9 years or something.

It was getting so big that it's now limited to 500 cars you have to get tickets in advance.

Nice things is BMW no runs the event and they go all out. You can run there Test coarse (both on road and off road coarse there are 9 different ones) They also allow you to driver there Cars if you want. and a bunch of other stuff which will take way to long to type the 30 minutes conversation.

Anyrate Sounded awesome Hopefully my brother will go again next year I'd really love to join them. wouldn't mind taking the Eclipse through the Twisty's and then spending the weekend abusing some BMW's on the test coarses.

Yeah, the Tail of the Dragon is a winding area of road in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. 318 turns in 11 miles. I know all about it, Brian. ;)

Well I'm not sure how much father it is then where the BMW homecoming was.

But my parents said it was 120 miles to the BMW place from there house.

And the "Tail of the Dragon" was on my brother's way there. I'll have to ask him when I see him next week.

Damn South Carolina just keeps coming up with more and more reasons to move down there.
