Well, my '94 TSi just got towed away today so now I am officially DSMless. Deffinately kind of a sad feeling, but I felt it was something I needed to get out from under; time to move on to the next project I suppose. Someone on this board is lucky enough to now be in possession of it and I wish him the best of luck, I know he'll turn it into a great car once again.

Anyways too bad it had too be a good running dsm to be parted. Well good luck in your future automotive ventures.

He sure did.....suspension, built tranny, and all.

It wasn't a good running dsm anymore. That is why it was parted. I am considering the same with my 92 now.

With the exception of a rod-bearing, everything was great with the car.

Jakey 09-06-2004 02:17 PM

What are you going to purchase now Chris?

Kracka 09-06-2004 04:06 PM

Atleast it wasn't a big problem with the car :stick: 7 bolt right?

Enes 09-06-2004 05:30 PM

s2k most likely?

niterydr 09-06-2004 07:04 PM

s2k or 3000gt vr4 was the running leaders last time I heard.

Something "reliable" I assume. Although a DSM with 160k on it fairly modded seemed quite reliable to me. Things break and thats how it works with old cars, especially ones that are modded. ;)

Good luck with the new car.

I vote 3gt

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:00 PM

It was a 7-bolt, but that had nothing to do with the failure. My head studs had streched allowing coolant in to the engine oil causing the rod bearing to fail.

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:02 PM

There will deffinately be no 3/S in my future, decided I want to get something newer than a 90's car. I test drove and EVO8, and to be honest, I was not impressed. Reminded me a lot like a stock DSM...fairly bland and boring requiring mods before it can truely be a fun car.

FattyBoomBatty 09-06-2004 08:17 PM

so, you're going to get a porsche 911 turbo? they are fast and handle great out of the box. the only problem is the price. but i bet you could steal one someplace.

A//// Guy 09-06-2004 08:36 PM

Evo 8 reminds you of a dsm? How could that be? They only have engine components that are almost identicle ;)

Kracka 09-06-2004 08:41 PM

Cool, two unintelligent posts in a row.
