not like you all care or anything but i just want to tell everyone my car is finally went over the hill today with 200k but still running strong... guess it's time to think about port and polishing :D....

Wow, that is truely amazing. Is it still the original motor and tranny? When you think about what happens everytime you start a car, it still amazes me they even last 200 miles, let alone 200,000.

Has anyone ever figure what the combined total milage of there car parts are.

IE If you have a 100k car blow the motor and put in a 50K replacement, your car would now have a 150k adjusted milage.

Just curious cause I bet I'm pushing 750k to a mil with all the used parts I'v put in.

Sorry to thread jack, but where you at?

santa 09-03-2004 01:44 AM

ahhh....do parts that you put in broke and took out count...cause if so im at about....1,980,000miles roughly of course but thats in the ball park...not joking eather

If you have a car with 100k on it then drop in a 50k engine, you would really be at 75k adjusted miles if we are considering the engine to be half the cars worth. The logic behind this whole "adjusted mileage" is kinda dumb though :stick:

200k is a lot of miles. My work truck is still on stock block with a few new trannys but we figure its at around 5-700k, maybe more the odometer hasn't worked for over 6 years. My car is only pushing 87,000.

any mile is a good mile in a dsm

Jed 09-03-2004 01:46 PM

Sweet! 200k!! Are the balance shafts still in there? I just turned 195k last week and it still has decent compression. I'm just waiting for a balance shaft to freeze up on me :woowoo:

Whoa...I've got some catching up to do. I just passed the 100K mark a few days ago. I added almost 30K onto my car within a year...if I keep that up, I'll break the 200K mark in about 3 more years!

chengsta 09-03-2004 11:37 PM

not really sure but hope all is good lol.. fix one thing another goes wrong guess that's DSMs well maybe just for me hahaha :P...
