Alright so i just bought a data cable so i can use my palm based data logger,
it's a direct into diagnostic plug thing with my palm m105 using mmcd my questions is what values am i looking for as far as knock and injector pulse and things like that go I have a 92 AWD small 16g turbo, gm maf and translator in pull though setup, 550 injectors and thats about it as far as mods go... just wondering what i should be looking for I'll post up som values that i'm getting later, but just wondering what to look for alright one 3rd gear pull from 4406 rpm-6781 rpm 99.6 %throttle the whole way through knock 30-15 o2-R .07v-.01v timing 5 degees-8 degrees (somwhere in there i hit 9 degrees of timing) injd 58.5%-102.3% a little bit better picture |
you need to de-knockify
|
alright..... how do i do that???
|
add more fuel or turn down the boost.
|
Get a FMIC.
|
and use more throttle, pussy ;)

and rev to 7500. start with low boost(10psi) and to much fuel then up the boost a little and take out a little fuel, etc untill you find what works best.

Fuel pump upgrade? Throttle should read 100% on wot pull, make sure there is nothing behind your gas pedal, then check your throttle cable to make sure your opening all the way, lastly adjust your tps sensor. The knock amount, coupled with the low 02 readings and the lack of timing makes me think your running rich. It could be fuel delivery, could be the tune (to much a/f signal being seen/being taken away) couldn't tell ya without more info. About IPW's, I personally don't like seeing them about 90% duty cycle. Of that percentage for a constant demand is a good way to have one fail on you. I have run 110% duty cycle on vehicles, but the injectors don't like it, the car runs like poo, and its just generally bad. Either your way to rich (maf-t setting, what are your afc settings?) or actually running out of fuel. 550's should be good on a 16g..so maybe it goes back to that fuel delivery issue... If you could list more information, that would be great. |
Well a little more information...
I still have the stock fuel pump, which I may be rewiring with 10 guage wire (vfaq said it was a good idea) I don't have an SAFC, I'm in the process of getting one, so I've been using just the maf traslator to change fuel settings, the maf has 4 adjustible settings, Idle, midrange, high range, and WOT, I have it set right now so that it is -8% idle, -4% at mid, +2-4% high, and +6% at WOT (the percentages is +/- the stock fuel delivery (all based on airflow) I am getiing a bit of boost creep, i'll star creeping from 15lbs to about 18+lbs at about 5krpm so that may also be why I am knocking, I'm still using 92 pump gas (somtimes i come across 91 non-oxygenated, but i don't know if that would help)) so somtime in the near futur i'll be proting my O2 housing to try to get rid of this creep, if that gives you a bit more info... I still run into that fuel cutoff wall at 6-6.5k rpm which really sucks, so if you have any recomendations or idea, or if you still need more info, let me know |
Yeah, Your probably running out of fuel if you arent even rewired. I would go do that ASAP. It doesnt take too long and its a pretty easy thing to do if you have a strippers and connectors. You need 10gauge, the relay, a fuse thing, and some 12-14gauge for the ground. Or at least thats what ive done. It doesnt hurt to go buy a walbro too and rewire that.

18psi= too much boost. I have logged a few cars at 15psi that were knocking pretty good. Do you have a big floor mat on the floor? Try removing it and see if you can get 100% throttle then. If not, I would adjust the cable a bit before checking hte sensors. Adjust it with your logger on so you can get it set.

your out of fuel
You have 2 options. 1) buy a fuel pump. 2) buy pistons. Its your call. |
I'm thinkin I might go with the fuel pump,
anybody know where or what brand to get? |

|
Walbro or Denso...
