looks like it is finally time to get my engine rebuilt  im looking for people/places in the twin cities area that have done them and are know to do good work. if you have something bad to say about a shop do not post it here, send me a pm.

Enes 11-11-2003 09:23 PM

Well, there will be a new place opening up on the Dec 1st, QPR, but there is also Elite that can take care of your work..

john 11-11-2003 09:27 PM

Yeah. QPR, Elite Autosports, or Rick Shindley. I would trust all of them myself.

jd1828 11-11-2003 09:37 PM

i should add that i want a place that will guarantee there work and can get the engine done in a reasonable amount of time probably less than three weeks.

Are you looking for major upgrades? Basic rebuild?

Raptor 11-11-2003 09:49 PM

Hey Jason, all work done in the shop is guaranteed. Time will always be as fast as possible. We don't have extra storage space to let things sit and of course it is financially in our benefit to get things done and out the door as quickly as it can be done without taking shortcuts.

We do have some very specific requirements for building engines, PM me if you are interested.

check your pm's

Alright, if you haven't paid attention to my engine episode, I can PM you the details about Shindley and my rebuild. I would go with either QPR or Elite.

thats exactly why im not going to have rick do it. that and he does not warranty his work.

john 11-13-2003 10:33 PM

Not trying to argue for him but I wouldn't warranty a race engine either. They are meant to be beat on. Since it is meant for that, it is beat on.

Enes 11-13-2003 10:58 PM

people understand the race engines are for exactly that.. racing/beating on it..

So any waranty that is given on a race engine should be warranty against worksmanship.. meaning if the cause was poor work then yes, waranty should kick in...

but there are many ways to break a race engine and still be non worksmanship.. bad product etc etc..

My thoughts exactly.
'Race only' products should hardly carry a warranty on the product, the warranty should cover assembly, machining, etc...not part failure. Well actually I can think of a few items where the part should be covered, but that would be under manafacturing defects and install error. argg im tired, sorry for rambling.
However as it is looking in jets case...assembly might have been the problem.
Hince why QPR is carrying specific requirements before we will even TOUCH your engine.

JET 11-14-2003 10:20 PM

Yeah, if I keep working 55+ hours a week you guys maybe be assembling my engine!
