I had my head in for some porting and the shop reomved the CAS and I recieved it in the box. When installing it, is it possible to get it 180* off or does reseting the battery erase the memory? I looked at the shaft and couldn't see a difference as to which way it is supposed to be put on. What could go wrong if it is installed wrong?

In my Laser, it was discovered that the CAS was 180* off. However, it started up fine and didn't seem to have any issues... that is until it spun a bearing.

Thanks, I plan on starting the car tomorrow if all goes well. Just hoping I connected everything up...

I think the signal will be the same even if its 180 off.

hell ya tha CAS can be 180 out. There's those 2 lil flaps on the CAS, one has a lil groove on the end and one doesn't. Well with the #1 cyl at TDC, that groove should line up with the lil notch. Fuck it I can't explain shit, here's a picture.

Thanks alot. The car started tonight but has issues. I will check that tomorrow. The car idles at ~3000 rpm. I assume I just need to adjust the throttle cable.

Halon 07-25-2004 12:08 AM

yup, throttle cable prolly too tight. I have to have a tiny tiny bit of slack in mine. If's its tight at all, the thing will rev way up at idle. What other issues you having?

john 07-25-2004 12:18 AM

That is all that I have not fixed yet (hopefully). I'll find out for sure tomorrow night when I can dig into it again.

throttle cable adjustment should take like 1 minute max. Anywho, good luck man
