how much does it cost to get a manual trans rebuilt?

AJ 11-09-2003 05:27 PM

This is probably one of the most worthless topics to ever be posted in Advance Tech. I will leave it here for the time being, but plase add some shit to it. Are you looking to just a stock rebuild? Complete works package with upgraded forks and shit? A tad more info on what your looking for? Are you looking for someone to do it for you? Just parts?

Does it even belong in the Tech section? That is such a general question it should be moved to the Parking Lot.

Shit like this makes me want you show you my moves. http://www.unix-networking.com/Vicious/vba6881.gif And moved to the Parking Lot.

I think it belongs in tech, but where is based on what else the topic starter adds. We shall see, we shall see. And Mike... please put your clothes back on.

Damn, that's the wrong pic, this is actually me http://www.unix-networking.com/Vicious/vaca20.gif

I think it would be a Tech topic if his question was "How to rebuild a transmission" vs "how much does it cost to get a manual trans rebuilt?", but you can put it back if you like.

Oh yeah, by the way http://www.unix-networking.com/Vicious/smiley_1034.gif

It really depends on who does it and what parts you need to go with it. There are many shops around that can do it for you with a starting price as low as about $600-$800 if you take the transmission out yourself.

what place do you recomend in the south metro

MATCHBX 11-09-2003 09:22 PM

Well, considering Mike is from Louisiana, I don't think he'd know of anyone around here. As for myself, I have no idea where would be the best place. I know there is a tranny shop off of Cedar just north of 494 that is a reputable shop. I have never had anything done there but I've heard good things. I don't remember their name right off hand.

Raptor 11-09-2003 09:46 PM

There are several people local that can do this for you. We can do it, Rick can and John or Ryan can as well. If you want a quote, PM me.

niterydr 11-12-2003 12:52 PM

My friends dad also ownes a tranny shop, I asked him one time if he knows of anyone that can rebuild a 'mitsu' tranny, he told me very few shops are qualified and/or crazy enough to touch 'my tranny' (back when I had a talon). Just some fyi.
Is this an awd tranny? fwd? turbo? non-turbo? either pm me, or mike for a quote, or post up more info please.
Also which syncro is it? what tranny fluid are you using? when was it last changed?

santa 11-12-2003 03:01 PM

anyone know of any good sites for a diagram of a 1g fwd tranny?

Enes 11-12-2003 03:39 PM
